Ian McClanahan is a Camp4Heroes Ambassador. He was a volunteer with Fremont Volunteer Fire Department while he was a student at Charles B. Aycock High School in Pikeville, where he graduated in 2009.
Assigned as a Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsmen, Ian was one of several victims of a devastating mortar explosion in Hawthorne Nevada on March 18th, 2013 while preparing for a combat deployment. McClanahan displayed courageous honor as he selflessly ignored his own life-threatening injuries, assisting others who were severely injured.
After countless life-saving and reconstructive surgeries, along with the support of his wife and family, McClanahan is now an activist for warriors all over the country who have been wounded and suffer from PTSD.
